I was just checking my stats and noticed an incoming visitor from Technorati. I think I signed up there before I even had this blog and then promptly forgot. So how many of you vicarious readers have done similar things? Is anyone still listening?

Hello world!
Vicarious conversations haven’t begun. They were already in progress. I am just joining in, but still am participating vicariously.

Derailed thinkings
It’s amazing how quickly you can become derailed. Yesterday, I had ideas flowing out of my … well, lots of ideas. Today, I spent most of the morning in a conference organising committee. Perhaps I should have gone straight to my office from there, rather than detouring via the club for lunch.
Although, it was a nice way to catch up, and there are worse ways to spend an afternoon than with a wine fuzzy head.
Perhaps I’ll summarise that paper tomorrow.

It is better to be vaguely right, than precisely wrong.

Slackness quotient … up?
Damn.
I just realised I haven’t updated for nearly two weeks. That’s two weeks of reading not done. I was going to get up to speed. And I can’t for the life of me think what I’ve been doing for the past two weeks. Sure, I got all of last semester’s marks out of the way, and yes, I’ve provided a bit of direction for a number of people, but why has my direction suffered.
I’m supposed to start my fellowship today. The wiki has not been implemented (hopefully it will by the end of the week), I haven’t looked over the course outline for the readings I have to get digitised. I feel like I’m way behind.
I did start to write the paper I flagged a couple of weeks ago expanding the concept of Digital Natives/Digital Immigrants. I’ve tentatively called it Rethinking Digital People.
